Military Adaptive Court Sports (MACS) is a veteran based non-profit organization founded in 2009 to help rehabilitate armed service members and veterans suffering from physical and mental injuries due to the negative effects of combat. Funded by the VA, MACS originated in the sport of racquetball and shifted its primary focus during the pandemic to pickleball, including para-pickleball, leading clinics at VA centers across the country. MACS Pickleball Director is Gabe George, a Navy veteran and amputee who is featured in the Netflix documentary series “Heart of Invictus” leading the United States team in the Invictus Games competing in Archery and Swimming. George is constantly on the road leading pickleball clinics for MACS and will be attending the Low Country Pickleball Classic at Sun City in April. Joining George will be MACS Executive Director Steven Harper, also a Navy veteran and a leading instructor in para-pickleball and other sports for MACS. George and Harper will host a MACS clinic and exhibition with veterans on Saturday during during the LowCountry Pickleball Classic.
