Playing Pickleball at Sun City
There are several ways to get games at Sun City. These are outlined below.
* Lottery - The lottery allows a group of players to reserve a court weekly for 6 months at a time. A lottery is held to determine what order a group may choose their court, day and time of the week. The group will be able to play at that time weekly for 6 months. *Reserve a court with friends. Use the Court Reservation System to reserve a court or courts on a one off basis for a group to play. *Open Play - Attend one of the many designated Open Play times that are outlined below. * Hop on an empty court, no reservation needed. Courts are mostly reserved in the mornings. You may find an open court in the afternoon. You can also check the Court Reservation System to see what courts may be available. *Advanced Mens Round Robin - Open play for men of a skill level of strong 3.5 and higher. Join the group on Team Reach and sign up each week that you plan to attend. Contact Reuben Oder for details at oder.re@gmail.com
Meet and Play - Rules for All Players to Follow
Open to all residents wishing to meet new players and play Pickleball in a fair method of in and out rotation for all players present.
Play should be on a rotational basis with different partners as much as possible.
Play a game, come off the court to allow waiting players to enter.
Change courts often to mix up the play and meet new people.
Do not form groups that hold on to one court or that only play together, that is what the lottery is for.
League players have been rated while the rest of us are self-rated based on who we have played with and against competitively. If you and different partners win more than you lose then try moving up to the next level. The opposite is also true. Play at the level you are comfortable with and your playing partners and opponents are comfortable playing with and against you.
